PEG LAMP & CHAIR BY TOMAS ROJCIKCombining traditional craft techniques and cutting edge production methods is the basis behind Rojcik’s works.
With a mass production background and an education in craft, Rojcik attempts to bridge the gap between old and new, humanizing technology and modernizing craft.
The lamp and chair combination was designed with small spaces in mind.
The light source is directly hung over the occupant’s head, to reference the creation and formation of new ideas.
The legs of the lamp nest under the chair and create both a column of personal space and a private and secluded area for one.
Peg was part of the 2012 MOTO @DomisonDesign exhibition showcasing the works of cutting edge designers from Montreal and Toronto, Canada.
Sorry for neglecting the blog everyone! This ^ is why though!
I just had my final critique for our chair project! 10 hard weeks of designing and fabricating.
It was tough but I’m extremely proud of what I accomplished. I’ll try to keep posting more regularly now! (I’ll also put up some better detail shots of my chair soon too.)

Plank Collection for Council
Designer: Eric Pfeiffer
Taking advantage of the unique properties of a new material called Perennial Wood we developed a line of outdoor furniture for Council, a premium furniture brand from San Francisco. The outdoor collection includes a stacking chair, lounges and a series of tables. The collection is minimal and restrained, almost utilitarian in its material use. Each piece boasts a simple curve in wood lightly resting on a powder coated rod base to create an expressive, inviting form. Perennial Wood is a beautiful, humble material providing unique aesthetics and performance characteristics not currently available for the outdoor market.

The Corliss Chair by Studio DUNN
The spitting image of revolution. The Corliss Chair cleverly integrates traditional American hardwood construction in its maple seat with a graceful, comfort driven, and handcrafted aluminum backing. Its true connection a secret between them, this union of sustainable and recyclable materials harmoniously joins along a curved plane. Paying homage to George Corliss, the founder of the first independently-powered steam engine, the chair naturally innovates any setting.
